Tuna Steak in Red Wine Sauce

Presenting you with our finest recipes every Monday, try our delicious Tuna steak, in Red wine sauce with roasted rosemary potatoes and sautéed broccoli and mashed carrots.

Benefits of Tuna Steak

The health benefits of tuna fish include its ability to stimulate growth and development, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and help in weight loss. Tuna also has the ability to boost the immune system, increase energy, aid in skin care, increase red blood cell count, and prevent cancer! 

 

What you will need:

- Tuna Steak 

- Broccoli heads 

- Diced Potato

- Carrots

- Cream 

- Red wine

- Salt & Pepper

- Sliced Red Onion 

- Corn on the Cob

- 2 Garlic Cloves

-Rosemary

- Vegetable Stock cube

 

What to do:

Make sure to take all safety precautions before preparing this meal. Ensure you wash your hands, and have all the necessary equipment to prepare this dish.  (Meal serves 2)

 

Stage one - Prepare mushrooms and onions and fry them in a wok or a large pan on medium heat. once softened, add the garlic cloves (crushed) for seasoning.

Stage two - Dice and Coat potatoes in Rosemary, olive oil and garlic (crushed) and place in the oven for 45 minutes.

Stage three - Add tuna steak to wok or pan and sear for 5-7 minutes, (adding salt and pepper to your preference or the recommended 2 tbsp)

Stage four - Add full bottle of Red wine to the wok or pan with 2 Vegetable stock cubes and leave to simmer until the alcohol has evaporated. 

Stage five - Mix around your potatoes in the oven to make sure they are evenly coated and cooked throughout, and add carrots to boiling water on the stove.

Stage six - Add double cream and leave to simmer in the pan for 10-15 minutes and just go back to taste to make sure the seasoning is to your preference. 

Stage seven - Boil the Corn on the Cob for 6 - 8 minutes and add to the oven to crisp.

Stage eight - Continue to taste for preference and serve up for a friend or family get together or as your limited edition menu option!
